MaryThis causes me to recall a comment by R Reagan about how the Parks Service couldn't maintain things because a marmot was living in a pothole in the middle of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park (CO). Surprisingly we knew the gentleman was correct – on this if little else – as we had seen said hole, with marmot in situ, the week before. I suspect that occupant wouldn't assist gardening!
